the reference manual has lots of info on where host variables are allowed - check the create table section - carefully look at the syntax and all

there are good reasons for some of these things, and they usually make sense after thinking about it a while

come back with quotes from that section, then we can respond better

and the compile message was the same. It's not allowing host variables
when trying to create table with data. I just understand why.
