I clearly must be hallucinating, because I could have SWORN (and probably will again) that I tried it with a constant and it wouldn't compile. I changed my variable to a constant, ran a verify, and got no errors on that line. Plenty of other errors, but that's another story...
Thanks for setting me straight. I obviously need to imbibe much more...
