Hi,

If you %Trim( a blank field), does %Trim return a single blank or a *NULL
?
If it's a varying field, neither.

Just check the length of the trimmed value and you'll find out it is *Zeros,
that means nothing.
But Nothing is not the same as a NULL-value.
NULL values are available for all data type. A Null value is a value outside
the valid range and must be checked separately. Within RPG a real NULL value
can only be handled, if the field (containing the NULL-Value) is located
within a database file.

It looks like if the variable is blank, it is acting OK.
So the line below does not bomb out. But I was curious what it
resolves to.

When %Trim(SFLoption) = '2' ;
