Did you really mean a 3-digit year? What do you need it to say? Or do you mean the first character to be the century?

The %char() function has a format parameter, such as *MYD - to have a result without separators, put a "0" after the format.

If you are going for CYYMMDD, you might have to use the MOVE op-code, at least at V5R4 with *CYMD in factor 1.

The other option is one of the CEE* date APIs - really quite easy to use.
