... and does calling it this way solve your problem? Think of the *CMD object as the prototype for the program. This is (at least in part) what *CMDs are for, and how I deal with this type of situation.


Simon - I did search the archives and did see the faq, but didn't find anything specific for rpg to rpg calls. I've spent almost four hours on this single problem hence my request for assistance.

When you use QCMDEXC, it doesn't really count as an 'RPG to RPG' call anymore. That's what I was trying to get at - this _exactly_ the same problem you were having with your calls to the CL program. It has nothing to do with the language of the command processing program and everything to do with the way that command line calls are handled.
