An API is always better. I didn't know there was one for retrieving scheduled job info.

egads! Back in the stone ages I used to try outputting to spool files and
copying to physical files, etc. And then I'd get burned by IBM changing
the layout of the print file from one release to another. And, with
multiple machines running different versions of the OS I didn't want
multiple versions of the programs. I think that was my first foray into
APIs.

You could write a command to do what you want by using the WRKJOBSCDE
command and sending the result to a print file, extracting the parameters
from the print file, andn then submit the job.

Morning all
I know that there is a way to programmatically hold a job schedule entry
HLDJOBSCDE JOB(JOBNAME)
and there is a way to programmatically release a job schedule entry
RLSJOBSCDE JOB(JOBNAME)

My question is:-
is there a way to submit the Job schedule entry.
I know I could code the same SBMJOB parameters, but if the JOBQ or the
JOBD
changes on the WRKJOBSCDE for whatever reason, this program would also
require to be changed for the same parameters

Hopefully the question I am asking makes sense
