I hope I'm not being overly pedantic, but I think it is important to note that you are NOT running in compatibility mode. You are running real ILE programs in the default Activation Group - and that is not the same thing at all.

Compatibility mode was designed to make RPG IV programs run safely alongside OPM programs in the default AG and is specified by DFTACTGRP(*YES).

Running real ILE programs in the default AG is just an accident waiting to happen. If you want to know why, search the archives for "seven deadly sins of ILE" and you'll find the discussion and link to the article of that title.
