Hi, I've do: DSPDEVD "MYPRT", and the type is *IPDS

when you do WRKSPLF, what's under "Device or Queue" (example MYPRT)

Do a WRKWTR MYPRT*, hit F11 so you see Writer and Queue names.

If that works, and there's a writer shown along with a status of
something besides END. Then you've got a *DEVD for the printer, use a
DSPDEVD MYPRT.

If not, then you've probably got a remote writer.

Do WRKOUTQD MYPRT.

What does it say on the second page for Remote System and Internet Address?

Remote writers are supported by Host Print Transform and it wouldn't
surprise me if the shaded box isn't supported.

Lastly, note that none of this is RPG related.

You need to move this discussion to the MIDRANGE-L list.

How I know the device description?
I have printing to these devices directly from an RPG program to a PRT file.

You still havn't mentioned how you are printing to these printers?

Do you have device descriptions defined with TYPE(*IPDS) AFP(*YES)?

It seems possible for the IBM's, but I'd be surprised on the Canons.

Hi, I have a IBM 1332, Infoprint20, Canon IR2570c and Canon IR4570.
These printers support the shade box?
When I use the program "AFP Workbench Viewer", the shade doesn't
appears, the box and pagseg appears correctly.
When I assign boxcolor grey, in the "AFP Workbench Viewer" appears ok
but when I print it, appears black.

I believe that's hardware dependent. From the DDS Reference:

1. When you specify box shading with no color or with the basic
color model, IM1 image is used as the fill pattern. This works best on
240/300/600 pel printers. It may produce unsatisfactory results on the
4224, 4234, and 64XX printers.
2. When you specify box shading with an extended color model (RGB,
CMYK, or CIELAB), IOCA image is used for the fill pattern. IM1 image
does not support these color models. The IPDS™ printer must support IOCA
image for this to print properly.
3. When you specify box shading with an extended color model, the
following monochrome IPDS printers support gray scaling when you specify
highlight color:
* Infoprint(R) 60
* Infoprint 62
* Infoprint 2000
* Infoprint 3000
* Infoprint 4000
These printers must be at ucode level 8.3 or later.
