I just want to caution against assuming that a MONMSG CPF0000 on various
commands to check an object's existence or whatever is acceptable
programming. There are numerous reasons these commands may fail:
- library not found
- library locked
- object currently locked
- security failure.
- object damaged.
- the output queue actually may not exist
Granted, in your application, whether it exists, or that they are not
authorized to it, may have the same end for the user. But if they report
that it doesn't exist and your half wit that backs you up (who has
*ALLOBJ) says it does too and sends them on their way people tend to get
frustrated. The bad part is that when they beat the half wit into
submission to work on it and he determines that the problem is that they
are not authorized to it he will make you look like the half wit for
sending the wrong message.
And if it's damaged, that requires a different approach to solving.
