Just guessing now ... is the Pet_Name_Ind variable in a
data structure, and it was used before it was set?

God I love Barbara. :-). Yes, the field is in a DS (for no good reason
other than it's there). It's not used prior to the sql statement, but
I'd say you're close enough to the problem. It's odd that it was fine in
production for several months before this happened, but things sometimes
go bump in the night. We're recoded slightly (5i0 and checking SQLCOD)
and we'll put it back in and keep our fingers crossed.
