I think you may need to recompile and check that listing to see if you
have the right line of code. Between RPGIV giving a new line number at
compile time unless you are using OPTION(*SRCSTMT) in the compile or on
the H spec. And it sounds like this is SQLRPGLE, so the pre-compiler is
also involved. A new compile of the unchanged source may point to a
different line of source code, and hopefully one that makes more sense..

what value did Pet_Name_Ind have in it on error

Unknown. No dump was taken. But given that it's a 2B0, is there any
value that would be "invalid"? We can't think of one.

Should have said this before, Pet_name_ind is the null indicator (select
into :hostvar:nullind) from a sql statement.
