Has anyone else needed to test multiple conditions using /IF?

The RPG IV documentation does not mention either whether it is supported or unsupported but it seems reasonable to want to test multiple conditions however there appears to be no syntax to support it.

ANDing conditions is relatively easy although clumsy but ORing conditions is a bit harder and certainly messier.

I've tried every combination I could think of just incase this had slipped through without documentation but I always get a compiler error indicating it's not supported. For example:

/if defined( x or y)
/endif

/if defined(x) or defined(y)
/endif

/if defined(x)
/or defined(y)
/endif

I do value the efforts the RPG compiler team make but this is another area that smacks of "not quite enough effort" or as someone I know was always told: "could do better". A bit like the TRIM implementation. Why 3 built-in functions? Should have been 1 with a parameter for Leading, Trailing, or Both (default).

Is it just me or does no-one else run into these things?

Comments?

Regards,
Simon Coulter.
