Not sure where to start - there is an SQL Programming manual under Database in Infocenter - that is probably the best jumping-off point. There are chapters on the various languages.

To debug you want to say *SOURCE for the debugging view - STRDBG works fine - taking F15 in STRDBG brings various options - I usually end up using the RPG listing.

Some of this depends on the release of the OS that you have - and having the latest PTFs for database, as well as the CUME fixes.

Anyhow, find the SQL Programming manual - it may be called different things at different releases - heh. Paul Conte also has fine book about SQL on AS/400 - a few years old but still valid. There is also a redbook on performance, 2 of the writers are in this list - Elvis Budimlic, with whom I once worked, and Birgitta Hauser.

Vern, I do not know too much about SQL RPG. I was using the STRDBG.
Where can I read more about this type of RPG?

Happy 4th of July, especially to our Military people in harms way, may be
protected at all times.

CRTSQLRPGI takes your source - with the embedded stuff - and creates a source
file in QTEMP - if you do your compile in batch, you will not have any
connection to that QTEMP.

What debug view are you using on the CRT* command? You almost have no choice -
*SOURCE. Also, what release are you at? Which CRT command are you using?

Have a lovely 4th!
