In this case i simply WOULD use a qualifier, but these situations are the exception. Mst of the time it's all pretty straightforward. And if it's not i try to do it straightforward first.

Subject: RE: Standards question: What is your feeling about %found &%eofvs. %found(file) & %eof(file) ?

Here is some code that is in one of our production programs

chain key1 file1:
chain key2 file2;
if %found(file1) and
%found(file2)
processA
else
if not %found(file1) and
%found(file2)
processB
else
if %found(file1) and
not %found(file2)
processC
else
// by default neither has been found
processD
endif;
endif;
endif;

and within each process there are other chains on other files

QUESTION: for those people who do NOT qualify with file names, how would
you handle this piece of logic?
