It is, but we would rather use the command API where possible for
performance reasons. We define a "module" for each function in our
system (an example of a function within our environment would be "print
spooling" or "date handling"). The function may contain multiple
spooling API's. These functions are then deployed to the development
team for use within the system. It is much easier for us to track the
API changes within each release, it offers a significant reduction in
testing time, speeds up application development and the direct call also
provide better performance over the use of QCMDEXC.
