Booth's was the first email that really got to the point. If you're
adding an extra box or something to ship it via UPS then you need to add
the tare weight. Then you still end up rounding up to the nearest pound.
The trick then becomes do you have multiple methods of calculations based
on whether you are shipping a full truckload of these items, or are you
using a LTL carrier such as UPS that charges by each carton? For example,
if netWeight and tareWeight = grossWeight and that is 1.1 pounds, then on
a LTL carrier you would record that as 2 pounds. But if you ship a full
truckload of these items you may have
grossWeight * 1000 items = 1100 pounds
not
(grossWeight rounded up to 2) * 1000 items or 2000 pounds.

Then again on a full truckload you may have some additional tare weight
(skids, gaylords, etc)
