Buck,

It looks like it can be done using *IPDS data stream not *AFPDS. The *AFPDS is much
easier, you just have to use the code BARCODE on a PRTF field and it does the
conversion, as we discussed this week.

With *IPDS, you have to make the conversion in the program, each and every field
that needs to become a barcode. There is a conversion tool called an EBOX that is sold
by Twin Data, but this looks like an expensive idea, the quote on the phone is $1500.

The Printronix manual with examples is here:
http://www.printronix.com/library/assets/public/tech-pubs/PTX_PRM_VGL_P7000_253099.pdf

I can put together a sample to see if it does print but then there will be a lot of
programming required to make this conversion within the program. I was wondering if
anyone has done this type of *IPDS in their RPG program and if there are any guidelines
on how to do this.

work. Perhaps Printronix has a different WSCST that can be used to

initialize support for DDS Barcodes.

Does the Printronix printer supports barcode printing. And if so, how
is
that accomplished?
