Good point, though the fact that the OP is dealing with loans might make this alright....at least
until 2019 and he gets a birthdate of 010210 and has to determine if it's an 18yr old applying for a
loan or a 118 yr old.

Granted, probably not real likely a 118 yr old would be getting a loan.

It's not likely that your daughter is going to be applying for a loan.

Honestly,

You can't do this with 100% success....

Suppose you get the following: 080215

Is that 2008-02-10, which could be the birth date of my daughter...

Or 1908-02-10 which could be the birth date of my Great-Grandmother (yes
she just turned 100. I've got
a nice picture of her holding my new daughter :)

Why is it that 8 years after Y2K, you're still getting 6 digits dates?

Subject: Determine birth date 6s0 format

Could use some help;

My client is sending a file of birthdates and loan effective dates in
mmddyy format;

For example:

A birth date of 062337 translates to 2037/06/23 Common sense dictates
this is not a valid birth date and would be 1937/06/23

Below Char_Date = 062337 and translates to 2037-06-03 in ISODATE.

What would be best practice for handeling this problem?

C *MDY TEST (D) Char_Date
19
C IF *IN19 = *OFF
C *MDY MOVE Char_Date ISODATE

Appreciate your help

Yeah I know, fixed format. Brr sldkfhgj
