any file can be access via RRN on a chain which is why you *can* leave the
K off the spec can it still compile with a chain or keyed operation.

Thanks, I would have expected that coding in such a way would be
highlighted as an error in SEU. That's why I was worried that I was
missing something.

None whatsoever. The K is defining how to access the file. As an Output
filer it sill have no impact.
