I run into problems with SQL Precompiler in sources with neither F- nor
global D-Specs.
There are some situations when the SQLCA gets not copied into the source
member.

Do you have the statement EXEC SQL SET OPTION SQLCA = *NO?
If not, can you give an example or listing?

Yesterday I run into an other problem when compiling RPG sources with
embedded SQL on a client's machine. I got all sources compiled on our
machine with release V5R4 but not on the client's machine, also with
release V5R4.
This sounds like the precompiler isn't finding /EXEC starting in column 7
or the /FREE starting in column 7.

Subject: Bug in the SQL Precompiler?

Hi guys,

I run into problems with SQL Precompiler in sources with neither F- nor
global D-Specs.

There are some situations when the SQLCA gets not copied into the source
member.
Until now I could not find out exactly when, but in all cases not F-Specs
nor global D-Specs were specified int the program.
Yesterday I run into an other problem when compiling RPG sources with
embedded SQL on a client's machine. I got all sources compiled on our
machine with release V5R4 but not on the client's machine, also with
release
V5R4. The precompiler could not recognize some SQL Commands like Fetch
and
Update (in free format SQL-Coding and in classic format), and did not
comment out the SQL statement and did not replace it with API calls. The
RPG
compiler failed because EXEC SQL is an unknown RPG command. In all cases
neither F- nor global D-Specs were specified.

After defining a dummy global variable everything compiled okay.

Does someone know if there is a PTF or is it a bug that nobody else ever
had?

Thanks in advance
