I've done some good things with HTTPAPI with a trading partner for
credit apps and with UPS for shipping quotes. I'm also using RPG-XML,
but from a web service server perspective.

I am looking into consuming some web services provided by Siebel CRM to
update tables on the I-series and Expose some RPG applications as a
service back to Siebel client

Here is what I need to know (I have done quite a bit of reading and have
made some failed attempts to execute some sample services and am feeling
a bit overwhelmed at this point in time)

What are the barebones setup and tools that I require on the Iseries to
be able to consume a service and use the information returned from a
response

Also what are some best practices in use we are on 5.3 of the OS and
have the XML toolkit installed (5.4 may happen but no guarantee there)

Thanks in advance for your Input
Mike

I like this; I can table drive my logic at run time.

You can have real fun with this Chris. In some cases it was useful to
me to have a "Service Program" in *PGM form. The technique you have
described was used to achieve this. The *PGM is called and simply hands
back a list of pointers to "what it can do".
