First point - Jerry was right - input needs to exist and have the same file defn as the file you are using ExtFile to override to. Note that ExtFile _is_ and override - so no need for another at run time.

In order to get independent access to both set of fields - which I assume you want:

1) Use Prefix on either or both of the files to rename all the fields

2) Use a resulting DS on one or both of the read operations.

In fact you can use option 1 with a QUALIFIED DS and a prefix of (say) 'INP.' which will automatically load all fields form the record into the DS INP - which should be an externally qualified DS.
