Kim, I think that relying on non-static locally scoped memory at a lower
call level is probably a bad idea in general.
Perhaps you could instead declare 'type_ds' in $obcSelect, and pass
%addr(type_ds) as a parameter to $obcGetType. Base the DS 'type' in
$obcGetType on the pointer that is passed as a parameter.
