We have a fairly large package running fine for clients with all sorts of national languages including some with lots's of peculiar national charactes. Now the client wants us to plug this package into their Japanese branch as well.

We do want to keep the source for all programs and files as a common package source. Maintenance is tough as it is without a second version of the code to worry about,

What are the steps to take? Is there a redbook around?

We have a lot of data transfers using Mq or pm4data in the application. How do we handle the case where the sender is (say) English and the receive Japanese or vice versa? I would suspect that this may be an additional area of concern.
