Here is an article that shows VB.NET using Stored Procedures to
get/manipulate data in an SqlServer database:
http://www.developer.com/db/article.php/10920_3438221_3

The article shows the following steps:

1) Create an SqlConnection object.
2) Create an SqlCommand object using the SqlConnection object.
3) Set the SqlCommand property CommandType to CommandType.StoredProcedure.
4) Create an SqlDataAdapter using the SqlCommand object.
5) Create a DataTable from the SqlDataAdapter.

The article uses SqlServer objects, but the same principles should apply to
the iSeries Managed Provider.

My question now is this: if the Cursor is left open on the iSeries, what
happens when this is executed? This is the disconnected ADO.NET model, so I
assume it will close the cursor once the rows are all returned.

I might have to test this soon.
