There is something to be said for that Buck. People are enamored with
stuff like Crystal Reports and not just because it's gui and generates
prettier charts that Query/400. I've always argued that Query/400
wouldn't be as difficult if people would create decent views. You know, a
view that already joins various files together and calculates fields (like
BPCS on hand) versus having to repeat that logic in each query. Apparently
Crystal Reports will also join files together by the various referential
constraints. Which is kind of cool. And I used to poo-poo that no
software vendors do this. Until I went to a Mimix class and some other
attendees pointed out that their vendors do and printing the relationships
out in iNav darn near results in a sheet of solid black ink.
