We have a process that reads .DAT files in a specific directory in the
IFS. The process works well for a while but then seems to lock up and
not process anything in the directory. Here is an explanation of our
process.

A submitted CL program sleeps and then wakes up every 4 minutes to call
the RPG program. When RPG program runs it opens the directories if the
open statement can't open the directory the error processing causes a
dump to happen. This is fine but this seems to cause the program to
lock up and then continue to cause dumps every 4 minutes (when the CL
calls the program again). We have to end the CL and resubmit it in
order to get the files in the directory processed. Can someone shed to
light on this.
