A reminder for those that might be interested in EGL...

The EGL tooling has been removed from WDSC V7 and relaunched as a separate
product named Rational Business Developer Extension (RBDe). This product has
a per seat charge of $1500 and is acquired through Passport Advantage but if
you are currently under a SWMA for WDSC V6, you can get no-charge licenses
to RBDe by filling out a "Rational Business Developer Extension Extended
Entitlement Request" which you can obtain from your BP or a
Rational marketing representative. I've just received the entitlements to
RBDe V7 after nearly three weeks of wading through a bureaucratic morass; no
one at Rational or Passport Advantage had a clue about this entitlement. The
entitlement request must be submitted no later than July 30, 2007.

Kind regards,

BJ

EGL is a tool for generating applications quickly. It's easier than
RPG-CGI
and easier than JSP. And with version 7, it generates rich clients as
well
as browser apps, which is something none of the approaches provides
easily.
