It ain't so. Not according to George Farr - who as the IBMer in charge of
that whole arena should probably know!

George was here at the Tech Conference this week and talked openly about the
work going on to determine what the next version of RPG would look like.
Things like complete free-form etc. were openly discussed. If I recall
correctly, iSeries News published a piece recently by George on the future
of RPG. Jim Herring from Rochester has also reaffirmed the commitment to
RPG in recent months.

There is one particular idiot (sorry I mean IBMer) who _is_ going round
making statements such as this pertaining to both RPG and COBOL. I would
not call him "senior" and I do not believe he is representing any official
IBM position. Just promoting his own pet product as the future direction.
