Hi William,

<snip>
I am getting a RNX9998 error when I try to chain to a file inside a RPGLE program.

Jc6chnb chain slsmas 45
*in45 ifeq '1'
end
</snip>

I'm sure I have seen that error in the past - when memory has been corrupted and the information required for the chain has been overwritten. I have seen this happen with setll too.

I would suggest you check the code running up to the chain. somewhere (usually in a procedure call or DTAQ receive. Somewhere a field that is too small is getting data that is overflowing into other memory.

Cheers

Larry Ducie
