The complaints I've heard about the scroll bar: seem to some from the
problem of the bar portion can only be sized so much it is limited to a
full reverses space in size over a long subfile it doesn't move much. Also
you can be on the last page of a subfile and it may still look like you
can page down. Sometimes the bar wont go to the bottom unless the last
record is or really close to the top of the screen. I haven't used the
scroll bar in a while but these are why I was asked to stop. We were also
considering webfacing programs at some point (not looking there now) and
most of the options IBM gave us to make green screen programs look more
web/windows like don't webface. The radio buttons and check boxes don't
convert.

I agree with the comment about 9999 records, but I'd add this:

Loading a load-all subfile is pretty fast with today's computers. If
the user is going to be using the subfile all day long then the few
extra seconds it may take to do a load-all is easily offset by having
all the records there and just sliding the scroll bar up and down.

For some reason that escapes me, we RPGers seem to have a real aversion
to using mouseable scroll bars, radio buttons, and check boxes in our
applications, yet nearly every user has and uses their mouse all day
long. A subfile without the scroll bar is a real limitation. What
befuddles me even more is the extreme ease with which we can add a
scroll bar to a screen, and yet we don't do it. What is the objection?
