does the report go to a different outq that your spooled files? if so you
can just use WRKOUTQ for your outq instead of WRKSPLF. i usually make an
outq in my dev lib and set that as my default OUTQ then i don't have to
worry about squashing a production spooled file. that may work better for
you.

Thanks,

RE: Spool file object

It's a minor job really. Occassionally there is a hiccup with it, so I
just run it for them due to time critical issue, but I can see your
point, that
There is probably an security/arch reason to never change such info.

when you do WRKSPLF only yours show up?

Thanks,

RE: Spool file object

I sometimes run Production jobs for a User that produces a spool file
that is kept for some time. I like to do WRKSPLF for my own. But then
this production spool file always shows up in my queue. There is a
danger of deleting something by mistake.

And if not, then I have to be aware of this output at all times,
especially when I am in a cleaning up mood.

I guess the other option is to remember to sign on as a User Profile
when this happens. It would still be nice to be able to get this off of
my out queue.

What are you trying to accomplish by changing the USER portion?
