I'm no pro from Dover on this stuff but stored procedures support
"overloading". Meaning you can have multiple procedures in the exact same
library - with the exact same name. What may be different is the
parameter list. Let me create a table to explain the "possible" problem.
FromDate 6A DIGITS(SDTRDJ)
ToDate 8A ' '
FromFormat 7A '*JUL'
ToFormat 7A '*YMD'
DateSep 7A '*NONE'
ErrorFlag 1A ' '
Century 2A ' '
Not sure whether DIGITS(SDTRDJ) is 6A, but I know that '*JUL' is not 7A.

Try this simple test. Change
select SDDOCO,
CVTDATE(DIGITS(SDTRDJ),' ','*JUL', '*YMD', '*NONE', ' ', ' ')
from ajdprddta/f4211

to

select SDDOCO,
CVTDATE(cast(DIGITS(SDTRDJ) as char(6)),' ','*JUL ', '*YMD ',
'*NONE ', ' ', ' ')
from ajdprddta/f4211
