The RPG part of this is minimal. You might want to take this to the
midrange-l list. You may get some other suggestions.
Some might way that your XL list is out of date the very minute of it's
creation. Sort of like the paperless office concept. A better method is
to do a DSPOBJD of all *QRYDFN objects to an output file and process that.
There are even examples in the archives about how to check for all
queries that use a particular file(s).
The trick is then opening the query for update and then saving it.
An alternative is to stop using Query/400. Who needs record format level
checks anyway? The only benefit it had over STRQM died with the death of
Office Vision. If you don't have STRQM then you could get around it with
other techniques that any programmer could understand but I probably
wouldn't turn the user base loose on the workarounds.

IBM also plans on pushing a graphical product from a business partner to
replace Query/400 soon anyway.
