You set SQLSTATE in a parameter in things like user-defined functions and
stored procedures. You could find out if you have any of those by looking at
files SYSFUNCS and SYSPROCS in library QSYS2 and see what you have.

I think!

Below is whats indicated in "Memo to User" for upgrade to V5R3:
SQLSTATE values are required to be uppercase characters (A-Z) or numeric
values (0-9). Prior to V5R3, an error was not issued if lowercase
characters (a-z) were specified in an SQLSTATE value in SQL routines. On
V5R3, an error will be issued for SQLSTATE values that are not valid.
You might have specified these SQLSTATE values in SIGNAL and RESIGNAL
statements and in condition-declarations and handler-declarations in an
SQL procedure, function, or trigger.

Can anybody give me some pointers on how I need to reserach our
applications to make sure above is ok? We use SQL PL, embedded sql in
RPG and SQLCLI.
