I'd like to advise you to use a more appropriate language for this type
of actions: CLP. There you can easily do a DSPFD <lib>/*ALL to an
outfile and go through the outfile to find the files that you need to
change.

Is there a particular reason why you /must/ use RPG?

My 2 cents.

Subject: Checking for File=*NOMAX

HI, is there a way in RPG using API to check all files to see
which are not set to *NOMAX, then make it *NOMAX?

Thank you,

Phil
