Some questions...

-What's the statement? SELECT, DELETE, INSERT...
-What's changing between runs?

I've had no problem running the following multiple times at v5r3...
     c/exec SQL
     c+ prepare S1 from :wSqlStatement
     c/end-exec

     c/exec SQL
     c+ declare C1 scroll cursor for S1
     c/end-exec

     c/exec SQL
     c+ open C1
     c/end-exec

Subject: Embedded Dynamic S.Q.L. in RPGIV

I assume this is the correct list since I am using RPG to do this.

I am building and executing s.q.l. statements using PREPARE Statement from
:SQLStatement. This part
of the code resides in a subroutine that is executed multiple times. My
problem is that once
"Statement" is used once, I can't use it again.

The reference manual refers to the *ENDSQL option and some others that are not
available in V5R3 even
though the manual does say V5R3. Go figure.

Does anyone know how to free the "Statement" identifier or perhaps make that
identifier it self
dynamic? I tried using :Statement00001, but the syntax checker said that was
not allowed.

Thank you for your assistance.
