David,

I think you have to consider that you have two lists:
1) RPG-L which is pretty restrictive in topic variety.
2) Midrange-L which is too generic and doesn't allow RPG questions.

Perhaps what you need is a i5 Programming list that covers all aspects of
iSeries/System i5 programming (not WDSC or SEU/PDM/SDA) and then have the
RPG-only, Cobol only lists for specific RPGIII/IV or COBOL questions. The
Midrange list would be used for generic non-programming issues.

I, for example, don't subscribe to Midrange-L because it has too much junk, and
too many "me too" messages.
I do subscribe to the RPG list, however, and would also subscribe to a
programming list.

But Midrange-L as just too much time-wasting threads for programmers.

Just a suggestion.

Folks:

I'm kind of getting tired of repeating myself ... this list is for RPG
programming discussion. Anything not related to RPG programming belongs
in a different list. If it doesn't fall into another list specifically,
it probably belongs in MIDRANGE-L
(http://lists.midrange.com/listinfo/midrange-l).
