So build a set of functions to do that using SQLRPGLE and call them when 
you need to encrypt or decrypt a field. then the current program can stay 
as is. Unless you mean standards prevent the use of SQLRPGLE at all. This 
would also give you an easy of doing this in the future by having it as an 
external function.

That sounds good except that I need to modify programs that are not 
SQLRPG type and need to stay that way to comply with the application 
standards.
