They, Formsprint, are offering (though I have seen it) a gui interface of some
type, as long as you also buy their PDF conversion product.

Both Ezprint and Formsprint are bascially the same when processing the spool
file. Both have virtual outqs. Even their green screen interface is basically
the same. Only thing Ezprint has is the PC Gui Interface.

Good Luck

Subject: Re: Forms printing software

Phil,
HI I am looking for recommendations for a forms printing software that
can be integrated in RPG programs.

I have worked with one specifically at two clients and have seen 3
otherpackages (but not used by me) at different clients. One thing that I
found important was how easy it will be to interface with my existing
software.

For example, one system's design is to output the original spool file to a
"virtual" output queue. The "virtual" queue is then directed to the "real"
queue. This makes it so easy when users are moved to an area with a
different printer-you just have to redirect the user's output to the new
"virtual" queue - not each individual user's reports. Other systems user
AS400 user profile output queue, user profile tables, form type or user data
on the spool file. These options are great if you are directing specific
reports that have to go on the same printer no matter who outputs the
document.

FormsPrint (previously mentioned) is strictly a 400 solution - no graphical
interface. But I am so used to that one, I am partial to it. Plus their
help support is great. They used to (do not know if they still do this)
offer to create three (3) documents as part of your purchase.
