..but why you'd wanna kill the system with a never-ending loop I don't
understand...

Anyway your example of:
DOW 1=-1;
Enddo;

Will never execute since DOW checks at the top of the loop...DOU
performs the check at the end of the loop which is why my example will
enter the loop.
