Jeff,

In a CL program, I'd use the RCVMSG command to check for message CPC1221
("Job &3/&2/&1 submitted to job queue &4...") being sent to the program
which executed the SBMJOB command. So in an RPG program, I might try the
same thing with the QMHRCVPM API...

Using either the _system function, or QCMDEXC to issue a SBMJOB command

from an RPGLE program, can I retreive the job number of the submitted
job?
If so, what do I need to do?
