We do have Robot. I didn't know about that option.
Thanks,

Phil,

Do you have Bytware's Messenger Plus or Help Systems' Robot?

Both include such built in monitoring.

If you don't have such products, I'd highly recommend taking a look at
them. Not only for the network monitoring, but for all the other
monitor capabilities. The price is pretty reasonable IIRC.

Subject: Program to monitor Connectivity

HI

Anyone written a program that will make a simple connectivity check to
windows Lan? Is RPG ILE acceptable language to write this in?

The idea would be to either establish a never-ending job from
Windows to
Iseries, monitor that this is active on Iseries and if it takes a hit,
program would then pump message queues and send e-mail or
other type of
alerts to Manager. Or if there is already a message group that would
contain the Interruption-in-serice info then just monitor those error
messages on the Iseries?

Thanks,

Phil
