IBM offerred a "test" PTF (scheduled to be GA'ed by Febuary) but
sounded less than confident that it would solve our problem. Our
SysAdmin is less than eager to apply a test PTF.

I would have thought that "create table ... as ..." would be a pretty
common SQL statement. If it is an issue, I would have exprected to
have "heard" (on this and other lists) something about it by now.
