My boss prefers to use the opnqry method of creating files in qtemp, and
doesnt like me creating work files in amtlib, then duplicating in qtemp.

I am very new to SQL (as is probably apparent...) and just wondering if its
possible to create qtemp files, which will then be populated and used in
the cpytoimpf command.

Maybe trying to hard to accomplish in sql rather than the method I know...

Note that if you're only using the file as an external data structure,
the only time the file needs to exist is when the program is compiled.
In other words, the file description is pull in at compile time not at
run time.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?
