More DBCS issues. Fun stuff!

Anyhow, I have an issue now that I believe has to do with
replacing data in a DBCS string.

The string itself contains both SBCS and DBCS data (ie
normal text and say, traditional chinese characters).

Now, in this string I need to look for and replace certain
characters. For example, I want to find "/*LEFTBKT*/" and
replace it with a "[" character.

This replacement seems to really muck up the entire string.
Could this be because it's shifting things over (ie
replacing 11 characters with 1) and throwing off the DBCS
data?

This is what I assume is happening, it could be something
else entirely.
