Carel,

Yes, I was reading your message as saying you couldn't retrieve info
about reference fields.

After reading the thread you pointed out, I see that you mean you can't
see the reference information itself.

Sorry for the confusion.

Subject: RE: Table Definitions DDS or SQL?

Charles,

You misunderstood me on this, I think.

I did some research The API at V5R3 does not have a field for
this. See
also this link
(http://archive.midrange.com/oss400/200507/msg00000.html)
(a similar discussion was on the Midrange list end 2004/
begin 2005, IIRC).

Perhaps it has been changed with the latest Os-release.

Regards,
Carel Teijgeler

Huh? I've never heard such a thing about DDS reference
fields and the
List Fields (QUSLFLD) API makes no reference to such a
limitation. I believe you are mistaken. I don't believe
you can tell the
difference between a DDS created file that uses reference
fields and one that doesn't use reference fields (without
looking at the
source of course).

However, if true for DDS reference fields, it wouldn't be
true for SQL
created files.
