Simple answer - not really.

Slightly more complicated answer - if by this you mean "without using
numbered indicators in the RPG" then by use of the F-spec keyword INDDS

is possible.

Even more complicated answer.  You can "build-your-own" subfiles by
using
the DSM APIs - that would eliminate indicators completely.

It would really help us to formulate an appropriate answer if you told
us
_why_ the question is being asked.  What are you trying to achieve?
