Hello,

From which reference book could I find this command(SQLColAttributes)

It's an SQL CLI function. It's documented in the Information Center along with all of the other APIs.

Start with http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries

Choose your release and language. Personally, I'm usinv V5R3 English. When the Information Center opens, I can click "iSeries Information Center Version 5, Release 3" to get a list of topics.

The I choose the following topics by clicking the "+" sign next to where they appear in the navigation frame on the left:

Database -> Reference -> SQL CLI -> DB2 UDB CLI functions -> SQLColAttributes

Here's a direct link:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r3/topic/cli/rzadpfncolat.htm

The Information Center is where pretty much everything is documented, so it really helps if you get good at using it.

Another way to find it is to use a tool called "Google". Google is what is often referred to as a "Search Engine". It's designed to find lots of Web sites and maintain a searchable database of those sites. That way, you can search for topics that you're interested in.

In this case, you know you're looking for SQLColAttributes. Though, since that's part of the ODBC standard, you'll find it on many Web sites that have nothing to do with the iSeries. Fortunately, Google has the ability to search only on a particular site by adding the "site:" keyword.

To try Google, go to http://www.google.com

In the box, type the following:
   SQLColAttributes site:publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries

This tells it to search for SQLColAttributes, and only to return results that are on IBM's publication library web site, and in the "infocenter/iseries" directory of that site.

Here's a direct link to the Google search:
