We just bought the tool Catapult from excel systems. It is a nice tool,
converts to PDF/html, zips , change background e.g. create templates for your
company logos, etc, Emails the converted spool file to distribution lists you
create either on AS400 or on your PC.

Also , splits the spool if required, and send portions of spool file to
different email ids.
It also comes with add-on called EZ pickins, converts spool to Excel sheets on
basis of various rules, etc. Crete graphs on this converted data, etc..

Regards,
Sachin

We use Cool Spools a third party convertor that is easy to map spool
files. Awesome product, very easy to setup. You can add bookmarks and
all kinds of other features. The price isn't too expensive either and the
support is second to none. Basically, if you have an RPG program that
produces a spool file, you can code a subroutine to send the spool file to
the coolspools and it converts it and puts it in the IFS.

we use IBMs Infoprint server but it does not really create a PDF from
RPG. It converts a spool file to PDF. I don't remember ever seeing a
product that gives you API links to create a PDF from RPG

In the past I have just created the report normally then used a PDF
converter to convert the SPLF to a PDF file. I believe you could use
iText
or something similar. I am sure the others have better ideas.
